Foley Moley! Live Scoring of the film "Man with a Movie Camera"

Foothills Art Center, FREE

Local artists collective, GLDN, will screen the 1920’s silent film, “ManWith a Movie Camera” by Deziga Vertov. This part documentary, part cinematic art piece is hailed for its use of complex and groundbreaking camera work. A live house band will play an original score to accompany the entirety of the film while a few lucky audience members will be selected to contribute sound effects. You’ve never seen a silent film like this before.

The Public Art Commission welcomes the community to the Golden History Museum to meet commission members, discuss current and future projects, and give input on the public art process and direction in Golden. Hear from Muralist Victor Ving and photographer Lisa Beggs, commissioned artists for the Golden History Museum Mural, "Greetings from Golden" as well as Joe Norman, commissioned artist for the recently installed Highway 93 Entryway Piece, "Run& Fly" sculpture.

Open Studio 2nd Annual Plein Air Event

Clear Creek History Park Bandstand, 10th St

The Open Studio Group from Foothills Art Center will host the 2nd Annual Plein Air Event starting with registration on July 7 and an exhibit on July 11. Kickoff and canvas-stamping starts at 9am on July 7 and painting will continue through July 10. A show and sale of the Plein Air art will be held on Thursday July 11 from 6pm to 8pm in the Foothills Art Center Garden.  Judging of the Plein Air works will be conducted and prizes awarded to those participating in the  competition.
